The Third Edition of the ICCC was held virtually in 2021.

Edition three was a virtual affair themed Adapting Cybersecurity for Digital Africa. Hosted on the 21st of October 2021, many experts and industry leaders in the cybersecurity and cloud sector were in attendance. The two keynote speakers were Umar Garba Danbatta of the Nigerian Communications Commission and Lawan Mohammed of NITDA. This conference had five panels with discussions on the following topics:

  1. Securing the end points of Digital Citizens
  2. Data protection in the wake of AFCTA
  3. Digital Currency in the cybersecurity environment
  4. The role of identity and access management in cybersecurity
  5. Cyber Accountability

These discussions were moderated and thoroughly examined by some of the best minds in the industry including Olubowale Sangosanya - IT/OT cybersecurity & risk management consultant, Chinenye Chizea - CISO of NIMC, Martha Alade - WITIN founder, Mathieu Gorge - CEO of VigiTrust, and Rotimi Akinyele, the founder of Naija Sec Force.

As discussed, the digital revolution in Africa presents numerous opportunities for economic development and improved quality of life. It was further stated that as the continent rapidly embraces digital technologies, the need to adapt cybersecurity strategies becomes paramount.

Challenges around limited infrastructure, digital inclusion, regulatory divergence, capacity building and more were discussed and innovative approaches to addressing these challenges were proffered by the panellists.
