The Second Edition of the ICCC was held virtually in 2020.

With the occurrence of the pandemic, Protecting Digital Africa became even more urgent. As with everywhere else in the world, the rate of digitisation went up a notch and it became imperative to prioritise the security of digital assets. To this end, the second edition of the International Cybersecurity and Cloud Conference with the theme “Protecting Digital Africa” convened.

The special guest of honour at the acclaimed event was the Honourable Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami (FNCS, FBCS, FIIM), and other special guests were Senator Yakubu Oseni - Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, Prof. Umar Garba Dantata - Executive Vice Chairman / CEO of Nigeria Communications Commission, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi (CCIE) - Director General / CEO National Information Technology Development Agency, Hon. Daniel Nuxe Thomas - Assistant Minister for Information Services, Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Liberia.

Some of the keynote speakers were Dr (h.c) Peter Obadare - the Co-founder / COO Digital Encode, Hon. Sekou Kromah - Chief Information Officer (CIO), Republic of Liberia, Engr. Haru Alhassan, Head New Media and Information Security, NCC and Olawumi Babalola - Country CISO Standard Chartered Bank.

A key takeaway from this conference is that safeguarding digital Africa is a collective effort that requires collaboration among governments, private sector entities, civil society organisations , and individuals. The rapid pace of digitalisation demands swift and comprehensive action to counter cyber threats, protect critical infrastructure, and ensure the secure and sustainable growth of the continent.
